Fascinating. I guess an allusion can either work or not, depending on the reader's ability to make the comparison work. I don't know tons about Sports Center, though I think I recall that they present the same stories and features multiple times in a day. Thus, if you put off doing homework, you would likely be accompanied by the highlight reel already presented throughout the day.
